Rod is a highly experienced psychiatrist who received his medical degree from the University of Sydney and completed his psychiatry training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

He works full time in private practice, but also has an interest in medical education.  He has spoken at meetings for psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, trainee psychiatrists and general practitioners and has  tutored for the NSW Institute of Psychiatry Masters of Psychiatry program. He has published in internationally recognised psychiatry journals and has been an accredited examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP).

Rod sees adults with mood (depression and Bipolar Disorder), anxiety and psychotic disorders. He has a particular interest in therapy with patients who have suffered childhood neglect, emotional, physical or sexual abuse or trauma in their adult lives.

He also treats patients with adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

After a thorough assessment, he will give the patient feedback as to any relevant diagnoses and what the recommended evidence based treatments are.  He will take into account biological, psychological, social, cultural and lifestyle issues.  Together they will then formulate a management plan.

Rod is skilled in the use of psychiatric medications and psychological therapies including cognitive behavioural therapy. He has a Masters degree in psychotherapy from the University of Sydney and is an Accredited Member of the RANZCP Faculty of Psychotherapy and of the RANZCP Faculty of Adult Psychiatry.

He  also participates in the RANZCP's Continuing Professional Development program.
