Tessa is a General and Addiction Psychiatrist with experience in the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of a diverse range of psychiatric conditions.  She graduated from the University of Sydney/University of New England Joint Medical Programme with a Bachelor of Medicine with and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.  She has worked in various community and inpatient services across the Northern Sydney Local Health District, including adult mental health, child and adolescent, older person's mental health, eating disorders and addictions.

Tessa takes a warm, holistic, person-centred approach that acknowleges the nuance and complexity of the human experience. She aims to form trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationships with her patients and believes that each person needs someone who truly understands their story.   She believes in our fundamental human capacity for resilience and change.

She draws from a range of therapeutic approaches (attachment, psychodynamic, existential, humanistic, cognitive-behavioural) in her care and precribes medication where it is indicated and evidence based.  She also recognises the deep connection between mind and body in her approach to care.

Tessa has a particular interest in seeing older adolescents and young adults (aged 16-35 years), perinatal and women's mental health.  She is also interested in seeing patients for brief and longer term therapy where suitable.
